Centrica loses on a steady FTSE 100

The FTSE 100 was up 0.317pc at 6,799.57 as UK GDP grew by 0.4pc in the three months to October 2018 ahead of an expected statement by UK Prime Minister Theresa May later today.

UK energy giant Centrica was amongst the biggest losers on the UK index, down 4.15pc.

Brent crude dropped 1.10pc at $60.99 in line with global stock markets, erasing previous gains made following the OPEC cut agreement announced on Friday.

Sterling was at a three month low against the euro as investors prepared for a vote on the UK’s Brexit deal that Theresa May is expected to lose.
