Rick Perry to visit Poland and Ukraine to promote US energy
US Energy Secretary Rick Perry will visit Ukraine, Poland and a number of other eastern European countries to promote US energy in a bid to offer the region alternatives to its current reliance on Russia.
A Department of Energy (DoE) release said Perry will talk to government officials with regards to coal, LNG, nuclear and cyber security.
The US will also be seeking new markets for its coal exports that have reached record highs under US President Donald Trump, who vowed to support the industry during his election campaign.
The US will also look to provide an alternative to the region’s reliance on Russian gas by touting its LNG as more reliable than that from Moscow.
