Sterling at 14 week high against the Euro

The FTSE 100 slightly pared its losses during the morning session at 7,237.20, dipping into the red following disappointing GDP data, which fell widely short of held expectations.

Brent crude was steady at $84.98 with losses from reduced IMF growth forecasts balanced by Hurricane Michael moving towards the Florida coast, shutting down nearly 40pc of US Gulf of Mexico crude.

Sterling hit a 3 and a half month high against the euro at 87.43 pence per Euro on the hopes of a Brexit deal being reached soon.
